Inventing Great Science Term Paper Topic Ideas
Finding a science term paper topic can be very confusing. Science is such a broad subject; it is difficult for most people to find a great theme for their project. I have some ideas that will hopefully help you invent a theme that you will be proud of and excited to write.
- Brainstorm- Set a timer for 5 minutes. During that timeframe, write down as many topics as you can think of. Don’t be afraid if they are good or not. Just list as many as you can in the 5 minutes. Ready, Set, Go!!! Okay, hopefully, you are looking at 10-20 issues in front of you. Now look at them and see if you find a pattern. Look for a theme in the subjects and you will find what seems to interest you. Narrow your choices down to 5 or so. Set them aside for a minute.
- How much research is available for your choices- Look at the 5 topics you have. Can you eliminate any of them because there may not be sufficient research available? There is nothing more frustrating than beginning to investigate your topic and you can’t find enough information. Make sure there is adequate data available to write a great term paper.
- Think about your readers- Maybe you eliminated a few because of lack of research materials and you are down to 3! Now think about who will be reading this article. Do you think any of these themes will be more interesting to your audience? More than likely, you will be able to narrow your choices down to 1 or 2 if you think of your readers and keeping their interest throughout your paper.
- Think about you- Last but not least, think about yourself writing this paper. Which one of the 2 topics that are left are you the most interested in. You will have a much easier time keeping your readers interested if you are.
Hopefully, you were able to narrow down your search to one great topic. Hopefully, you are super excited about your thesis. Force yourself to have a great attitude about the project ahead. Don’t think of it just as homework but think of it as an opportunity to learn something new. Who knows, your research paper could be the start of a huge breakthrough in science.
